Ingredients of Shelly's Swiss Steak
- Bereiten 1-2 lbs of eye of round steak.
- Du brauchst 1 cup of carrots whole or diced.
- Es ist 2 of .stalked of diced celery.
- Bereiten 1 cup of sliced portobello mushrooms.
- Es ist 3 of small potatoes quartered.
- Du brauchst 1 of medium yellow onion thinly sliced.

- Bereiten 1 1/2 of beef broth or onion soup mix.
- Du brauchst 1 tbl of tomato paste.
- Es ist tsp of paprika, oregano, thyme.
- Bereiten of s&p.
- Du brauchst tbl of worcheshire, liquid smoke.
- Es ist 1 can of diced or stewed tomatoes.
- Bereiten 2 tbl of oil/butter.
Typically, you lightly flour the Steak and brown each side of it in a skillet. You would then add your seasonings and gravy ingredients to the skillet. After browning the Steak, I love to toss it in a slow cooker and then add my seasonings and gravy ingredients. My family likes swiss steak but do not care for the toughness of the steak.
Shelly's Swiss Steak Anleitung
- Pound out meat. 1inch thick..
- Season flour and dredge. Season well. Shake off excess flour..
- Sautee veggies and garlic 1-2 minutes. Scrape bottom with some beef broth..
- Add tomatoes, liquid smoke, worcheshire, broth, seasonings. Bring to simmer. Taste.
- Oven 325 for 2 hours..
I omitted the sugar as we do not care for sweeter things. Deglaze the Instant Pot pan with some of the beef broth. Add onions and cook until tender. Return the steak to the Instant Pot. Note: If you want larger pieces of cube steak, you can fry them separately in a larger pan.
