1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.Spoon the jam into a small bowl and stir until it is smooth.Set aside..
2. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy..
3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and salt.Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and blend until a crumbly dough is formed..
4. Pinch off bits of dough and roll then into 1-inch balls.Place the balls on a baking sheet about 1-inch apart..
5. Press your finger into the center of each cookie to make a "well".If the dough cracks,pinch it back together.Fill each well with 1/4 teaspoon of jam..
